QISSA is an online literary zine that publishes poetry, fiction, and non-fiction in English and Malayalam. ​

QISSA, meaning fable in Arabic, signifies a story, a tale of love, desire, dreaming, happenstance, cherished memories, loss, grief or everyday things. We are inspired by the rich literary and cultural tradition of Malabar with its icons Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, Kamala Das, S.K. Pottekkatt and others who continue to light the way towards capturing the quotidian in words.
